Software Developer • Technology Enthusiast • Digital Product Builder • Graphic Designer
Welcome to my profile. 👋🏾 I enjoy building digital products, experimenting with new technologies, and turning ideas into practical software solutions. I am especially interested in understanding how complete digital systems work—from the frontend interface a user sees to the backend services, databases, APIs, authentication, deployment and everything that connects them together.
My journey is driven by curiosity, experimentation and the desire to understand how the pieces of a digital product fit together.
I'm Yusuf Rokib, known as Don Martial, a self-driven technology learner, software developer, digital product builder and graphic designer. I enjoy learning by taking an idea, working out how it might function, and building a version I can test, improve and learn from.
Rather than limiting myself to one area of technology, I explore different parts of the software development ecosystem. That includes frontend development, backend systems, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, authentication, payment integrations and digital product design. I am interested in how the pieces work together, not only in how to write one part of the code.
Many of my projects begin with one simple question: “What if I build this myself?” From there, I research the technology, plan the system, design the interface, write and test code, work through errors, deploy where appropriate, and keep improving what I learn.
I see every project as an opportunity to understand a new tool, solve a problem, or improve the way I approach technology. Some projects become useful products; others are experiments, prototypes or learning exercises. Each can teach me something valuable.
An application is more than a screen. It is a collection of parts that must communicate reliably.
I am interested in understanding what happens behind the interface: how a user's action reaches an API, how the server processes a request, how data is stored, how external services respond, and how the result gets back to the user. Understanding this flow helps me think about both the visible experience and the system that supports it.
I enjoy exploring multiple types of software and working out how their interfaces, logic and data can work together.
I build and experiment with responsive websites, dashboards, authentication pages, admin interfaces, e-commerce pages, API-powered experiences and real-time web applications.
I enjoy learning how REST APIs, authentication APIs, data endpoints, product APIs and other backend services allow applications to exchange information and complete tasks.
I explore how data is stored, related, queried and protected, including tables, relationships, user profiles, transactions, application state and structured records.
My interests include product browsing, catalogues, search, shopping carts, checkout flows, product management, customer accounts and payment integrations.
I explore how WebSockets, server events, timers and changing application states can be coordinated so that connected users see timely, consistent information.
I also enjoy graphic design and visual creativity. I consider layout, typography, color, branding and usability important parts of the overall digital experience.
I like creating projects based on ideas that interest me. Some are public websites; others are repositories and experiments that show the concepts I'm exploring.
The Agrolyst Farms website brings together a public company presence, product catalogue, customer account journeys and connected online features. I built this website to support the company's digital experience.

Browse all repositories ↗I continuously learn and experiment. The list below reflects technologies and tools mentioned in my public GitHub profile and project work—not a claim that I have mastered every one.
HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL are part of the technologies I use and explore. I continue to learn additional languages and tools as my projects become more advanced.
I explore server-side JavaScript, Node.js, REST APIs and WebSockets to understand how applications process requests, communicate and deliver changing data.
My learning and project interests include how application records, user data and business information are structured and managed.
I have explored tools and deployment approaches used to build, test, publish and maintain web applications and backend services.
Technology is not my only interest. I also enjoy creative work and visual design.
I believe software needs more than functional code. Interface layout, typography, colors, branding, graphics and user experience all influence how a person understands and uses a product.
My creative interests include graphic design, digital graphics, social media designs, marketing graphics, flyers, branding, UI concepts and visual layouts. This combination of technology and design encourages me to consider both the technical side and the visual side of a digital product.
My goal is to keep improving at the point where functionality, communication and design meet.
I am interested in how developers can use AI tools to explore ideas, understand problems and accelerate early development.
I use AI-assisted development as a way to help explore programming concepts, brainstorm, research, think through system architecture, draft documentation, prototype ideas, debug problems and consider improvements to existing code.
At the same time, I believe AI should be a tool for learning and building, not a replacement for understanding the technology behind a solution. I want to understand why a system works, what its limits are and how to test it instead of accepting an answer without thinking.
Use explanations and examples to investigate technologies and understand how they fit into a project.
Explore ideas, build small experiments, debug issues and test whether an approach is useful.
Review the output, question assumptions and learn the underlying system so the finished work can be maintained.
A practical project is a sequence of decisions, tests and improvements—not only a coding session.
Understand the idea, who it is for and what it should help the user accomplish.
Learn about the tools, requirements, constraints and related systems.
Think through structure, user flow, interface layout and how the system should behave.
Work on the interface, backend, database and relevant service integrations.
Check the main flows, troubleshoot errors and identify gaps or unexpected behavior.
Publish when appropriate, observe how it works and continue refining the product.
I'm not interested in only memorising syntax. I want to learn how and why different technologies work together.
When I encounter a technology I don't understand, I try to break it into smaller questions. What is it? Why does it exist? How does it work? How does it communicate with other systems? How can I use it? Can I build something with it—and can I improve what I build?
Sometimes a bug is where the real lesson begins. A failed deployment, an unexpected API response or a database problem can reveal what I still need to learn. I try to use those moments to investigate, repair the issue and understand the cause.
I don't expect every first version to be perfect. My focus is to build, test, learn and keep improving one project at a time.
I am particularly interested in useful platforms and services that can work in emerging markets as well as the wider global market.
My long-term interest is in building digital products that solve real problems. I want to keep expanding my ability to take a concept—from the early idea through the interface, data, integrations, testing and deployment—and turn it into a complete digital platform.
I'm curious about scalable web platforms, digital services, fintech applications, e-commerce, data-driven systems, API ecosystems, AI-powered applications, real-time systems and business technology platforms.
I also care about the real conditions in which people use technology. That includes internet connectivity, mobile-first experiences, payment options, accessibility, infrastructure, cost, user behavior and the ability to maintain a product as it grows.
I believe developers from Africa have an important role to play in creating technology for African users and the wider global market. Great technology does not have to begin as a massive company or a huge project. Sometimes it begins with one person, one computer and one idea.
My interests continue to evolve as I work on new ideas and learn more about what it takes to create useful, reliable software.
Building complete applications from user interface to backend and database.
Designing services that let different applications communicate and exchange data.
Understanding how data should be structured, queried, secured and maintained.
Learning how applications move from local development into a live environment.
Understanding authentication, permissions, data protection and safer application design.
Exploring WebSockets, server events and applications with continuously changing state.
Exploring payment-related systems, wallet concepts, marketplaces and shopping platforms.
Learning how AI tools and services can be used responsibly in real applications.
Combining useful functionality with clear layouts, thoughtful branding and good user experiences.
A useful digital product needs its technical pieces and its human purpose to work together.
I'm open to learning from other developers, designers, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts. I'm especially interested in collaboration around web applications, APIs, AI, e-commerce, fintech, data platforms, real-time applications, digital products and startups.
I believe collaboration is one of the ways people can share knowledge, see a problem from a different perspective and become better at what they do.
My GitHub profile documents part of my learning and development journey.
You'll find experiments, projects, prototypes, backend systems, frontend applications, APIs and other things I'm learning along the way. Some repositories may be experimental or unfinished. Not every project starts as a finished product.
Some repositories represent an idea; some represent a lesson; some represent a problem I was trying to solve; and some grow into more complete applications. I want to keep learning from the process and improving the quality of the things I build.
Every project gives me an opportunity to understand something new. Every bug, deployment issue or API integration can introduce another lesson. I'm focused on steadily improving—one project at a time.
